COOK COUNTY ARTS COLLECTIVE FUNDRAISER FOR THE FREEDOM FOR IMMIGRANTS NATIONAL BOND FUND
Local artists gathered on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 7 pm at The Hyde Park School of Dance, 5650 South Woodlawn Avenue, to share selected works in order to raise funds for the Freedom for Immigrants National Bond Fund, an organization that raises bond funds for those in immigration detention.
The evening included a Know Your Rights and Responsibilities presentation, performances from professional Chicago-based opera singer Rose Guccione and contemporary dancers Amber Echols and Janna Barta, as well as current students from the Hyde Park School of Dance.
“This community of artists stands in solidarity with those in immigration detention and against racist and inhumane policies. We believe that our differences make us stronger, and we seek to use our artistic voices to provide concrete aid to those being denied their basic human rights.” - Jane Sawyer, Director of Cook County Arts Collective For further information about this event contact janes@cookcountyartscollective.org
